I am inspired by shadows and high contrast. My palette is a wide variety of colors. I find I am drawn to bright, raw complementary colors that are pure; I see nature the same way. Layering colors, dabbling in the thickness of paint, creative development of the subject: these allow me to manipulate our world. I sometimes create unusual size canvases to dramatize the subject matter.

I am a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, where I attended UNLV and received my BFA in 1988. Immediately following my graduation, I began teaching art for the Clark County School District. My love of art and children has kept me there for the past 15 years. My development as a professional artist began in 2003 when I started painting for friends, and before I knew it, I was painting for their friends, then restaurants owners, and other patrons of the arts. I am currently showing my work in two local restaurants, Black Mountain Grill and Bella Luna, and have moved into my own studio/gallery in downtown Las Vegas.
